Blog Revamping & Good Recipes

So if you haven't noticed, my blog has been revamped. I love it!!! I've been trying new recipes and chicken is always safe for me! I'm not afraid to cook chicken! I have found an awesome foodie blog called Annie's Eats. I made the chicken fajitas on Monday and the marinade was awesome!!!! Tonight I made chicken tortilla soup. I have been looking for a good recipe and this is it! Soooooo good! I think I'll be trying a lot of her recipes!

Celebrating Baby Anna!

This past weekend I went to Conroe for my cousin Alicia's baby shower. My mom, cousin Ashley, and myself threw it for her at Mimi's. The shower was so cute and then we went over to her house Sunday to put the finishing touches on Anna's nursery. It is so cute! We are all so excited for Anna to get here. She should be here the weekend before Thanksgiving so we will have one more thing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! Here are pics of her shower and then the nursery.

We had her crib set up at the shower as of course one of her gifts, but we also put the other gifts inside it.

This is the food table.

My mom and I gave Alicia this tutu but thought it would be a cute centerpiece. My friend Ali made the tutu. You can browse her stuff on her Etsy shop, Swish Productions. She also made some super cute burp cloths, but I didn't get a pic of them.

This birdcage was a longest yardsale find. It was so cute on the cake stand with the flowers, whcih I found at HEB!

This was where we set up drinks. The large white stand was another longest yardsale find. The green pitcher is from TJ Maxx. We loved that it looked like a honey pot!

Antoher shot.

My mom made this for Anna's nursery, but we used it as decoration at the shower as well. The bird is made out of a styrofoam ball! Super cute! As soon as Billy Rose Boutique is up and running, you can buy one. We are thinking of doing Billy Rose Jr. which will be the kiddie version of Billy Rose Boutique! Stay tuned!

The excited mama!

This is Anna's nursery when you walk into the room.

Crib wall.

The crib. This is the collage I made for Anna's nursery. You can get your own here. I love her bedding! So sweet!

Here's a close up of the collage.

This is her changing table. My mom and I found it at the River Bridge in Conroe for $60 or maybe $80. I can't remember. Either way, great steal! A coat of white paint, new knobs, and a changing pad and you've got a super cute changing table!

The tutu made it to the room. This is the top of her armoire.

This is the vanity. It is a special piece of furniture. It was my grandmothers, my mothers, and then mine. I'm so happy Anna can use it. Maybe one day I'll have a daughter that can use it.

This is a longest yardsale find. Scroll down for the finished product. This is the inside of it! Oh, the burp cloths that my friend Ali made are on the bottom shelf on the left. Aren't they cute!

This is finished product! How cute is this!!!

This is another longest yardsale find! As you can tell, Anna, has quite a bit of salvaged pieces in her nursery. It's so shabby and chic and adorable!!!

Here it is over her chair. With the chandelier over head.

They put old door knobs on it. So cute!!!

Here's a better shot of the chandelier.

That's it! All it needs is Sweet Anna to complete it! Love you guys and I can't wait to meet that sweet baby girl!

New Etsy Item on Shabby & Sweet

I have a new item in my Etsy shop. Head on over to Shabby and Sweet to see the adorable bird collage that I made.

Projects Projects!

Manny and I spent this past weekend tackling some projects. We didn't really plan to do them all at once, it sort of just happened. When we finished them it made me a little sad because they were the last projects I had. I love having projects to do. I was definitely sad that it was all done. But as luck would have it, another project fell into my lap. Since Manny started back to school last week, the studying situation is less than ideal. He obviously needs a place that's quiet to study, which has led me to go TV watching in the guest room. Here's where my project comes in. Manny said he might want a desk. After all his masters should take at least 2 years and then he is pondering getting his doctorate. It would be nice to have a place where all his school stuff could live while also giving him a place to study. It sounded like a perfect excuse for me to get to go to Round Top! Only one more month!!! So now to the projects that we finished.

Remember my blank wall post? Well, it's no longer blank! Here's the boring before!

This is the after. My mom got me the frame while she was at the Longest Yard Sale. I ordered the chalkboard from Chalk It Up on Etsy. The top picture is one that Manny and I bought while we were in Seattle. I found a frame at TJ Maxx for $9! The side pictures are ones that I took in Seattle at the market. We bought a board at Home Depot and had them cut it into equal parts. Manny sanded them down and I painted them black. Then I sprayed some adhesive to attach the picture then put a protective seal on it. I love the way it came out.

Here's a close up. I got the chalkboard pens at Michael's. They are awesome! They are so easy to write with and they come off with water!

Here are close ups of the side pictures. Of course I had to put a pina in there! And I love the sign pictures. The market in Seattle is filled with funny little signs like this one that says "No Booty on the Fruity."

This sides sign says "Pleeza No Squeeza." It's on avocados.

This was another one of my projects. My mom also got me this chair at the Longest Yard Sale. I needed one more for my dining area and this goes a long perfectly. This is the before.

This is the after. It's not a drastic change. I painted it a light grey. I didn't want a bold color. I already have 2 blue chairs and one striped chair in there.

This is the dining table finally done.

Our last project was curtains. The only room in the house that had curtains was the living room. So we found some curtains at BB&B and Manny hung them up. It definitely helps in the morning!

Our little side window.

This is a close up of the curtain so you can see the pattern. They were on sale at BB&B. Just the way I like them!

These are the curtains in the guest room. I already had these, we just hadn't hung them up.
