Seattle Memories

I can't believe the time has come! We leave Seattle in the morning. I have been looking forward to this for a while. I miss Texas, family, friends, people saying y'all, and everything else about Texas. A part of me is a little sad about leaving. This is after all where we started as a married couple. We've had some amazing times here and I feel so blessed to have gotten to experience a place like Seattle. There is no other place like it in the world. I thought I would put together some pics of my favorite things and times in Seattle. I hope you enjoy! If you ever get a chance to go to Seattle, take it!!!!

My absolute favorite thing about Seattle is the Pike Place Market. It is amazing!

Go see the famous fish throwers.
There are rows and rows of fresh flowers that are very inexpensive and vegetables.

The clever little signs in the market made me laugh.

The Pink Door is one of the best places to go in the market. The pesto lasagna is to die for. If you are lucky enough to be there on a sunny day, you need to eat on the patio while you overlook the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

I love this picture. We found out that my mom had never eaten a cherry in her life! How did that happen! What better place than the market for her to try her first official cherry!!!

Pioneer Square is such a unique place. There are tons of vintage shops, not to mention a kilt shop! While the family was here, Kevin was having a good time shoving the Sounders colors in the opposing teams face! He held up that scarf most of the day!

This is the center of Pioneer Square.

A block away from Pioneer Square are the piers. Our favorite place to eat was Ivar's. I recommend going on a Sunday for brunch.

Of course you have to go to the Space Needle. It's not really worth paying $15 to go up to the observation deck, but that's just my opinion.

We went whale watching in Anacortes while the family was here last summer. This was one of my favorite things! If you can do this while you are in the Seattle area, you should! It was awesome! Bundle up because even when went in July it was freezing. Some of the pictures of the whales are a little blurry. They are hard to catch when they come up to the surface.

The duck ride will always hold a special place in my heart! I have a love hate relationship with it. I have been on it 3 different times. My first time to go was in March 2009 when my cousin, Allison, and myself came to Seattle for a visit. I went again with our family in July 2009 and then once again in January 2010 when my friends Ali and Natalie came to visit. I could give the duck tour if I wanted to!

My mom, KK, and I went to Vancouver for a night last summer. One of my favorite places about Vancouver was the market. It was like a french market.

We went to Snoqualmie Falls. It was a awesome hike to go on. It was beautiful. I decided before we left that I didn't need to fix my hair. I'll rethink that next time!

We went to Deception Pass. It was really cool. We walked along the bridge. I thought Manny was going to have heart attack. He wasn't too fond of how high that bridge was. We went below the bridge and watched the sunset.

We went to a Mariners game where we got to sit in front of this awesome guy behind Manny!

Right down the street there was a great public park. We took Mija to the park all the time. We loved it and will miss having such an awesome park. Mija loved going there.

We went to Kubota Gardens. It was a great thing to do one afternoon after church. It was gorgeous.

Happy Birthday Biggie!!!

Today is my brother's birthday! He turns the big...

Happy Birthday Biggie!!! We love you!

Packing It Up!

The packing has started. This is our pile of stuff so far. All those tubs along the wall are clothes. We were smart about this. We bought those space bags and put all our clothes in them, sucked the air out of them, and put them in tubs. It is such a room saver! I wish I would of done this a long time ago. With as many times as I've moved, it would have been very helpful! There are some ridiculous things going on in this picture too. That big green sea bag by the guitar is all Manny's Navy uniforms. Even more ridiculous is the big black bag the guitar is sitting on. That is all purses. Well purses, with some scarves and hats thrown in, but mostly purses! We still have a long way to go and about a week to do it!!! I can't believe we leave in a little oer a week!!!!

The following pictures are of our empty closet! It was jam packed!!!! Oh, and the green sea bag you will see in all these pictures is full of hangers!!!! Ha! the ridicuoulsness continues!

This is what Mija does during the packing! She wants no part of it!!!

Swish Productions

My talented friend Ali sent me the clutch I ordered from her while I was home in March. I loved the pattern! It will be good for year round! She makes tons of other things like tutus, burp cloths, kitchen cloths, dog collars, onsies, headbands, and wreaths. She does it all! Check out her Etsy shop Swish Productions!

This is a picture of the purse she made for me. It doesn't do it justice so I stole some pics off her Etsy shop website to show you what it really looks like! They are the two that follow my less than flattering picture!

She also makes tutus for little girls. She made me a UT tutu for my cousin's little girl Ella.

Ella's little sister Corinne wears it too!

Thanks Ali! I love my new bag!!!! I can't wait to use it!!!

I'm ready for Round Top!

While Manny and I were out and about today, we passed this antique shop that was full of wonderful treasures. I was looking for a special item for a project I am doing, but while I was climbing through this antique store, I found this desk! I loved it!!!! I got a steal on it! Only $40!!!!! I am going to have Manny sand it down so I can paint it. I definitely needs some love! I can't decide if I want to paint it back to a cream color or black!!! I am so excited to move back to Texas with this gem! Since I've been up here, I haven't been able to go to Round Top in a long time! I'm definitely going in the fall!!!!

Seattle Sunday

It was such a pretty day in Seattle. Manny and I got out and took advantage of the sunny and rather warm weather. One of the things that I will miss about Washington is how pretty all the plants are. I took this picture from our patio this morning of this tree that is right outside our window. It is beautiful and these trees are all over the place here.
