2 + 1 = 3!!!!!

Now that I am a full 12 weeks, I feel it is safe to announce that Baby Pina is on the way! We found out we were pregnant on New Year's Eve. After some fatigue and nausea, we decided to finally see if there was a little bun in the oven. We are beyond excited and cannot wait for the next chapter in our lives! This baby is already spoiled! I guess that's to be expected when it's the first grand baby on both sides.

This is Baby Pina at 6 weeks. All I could really see was a flickering heartbeat on the screen but it was such an amazing sight. I am blown away every time I get to see our sweet pea. It's truly amazing how the miracle life takes place all right there inside your tummy.

This is Baby Pina at 10 weeks. I couldn't believe how much he or she had grown. Not to mention, the baby was moving his or her head and arms. Again, amazing!!!!

I had to take this next picture. Yes, I took more than one pregnancy test. In fact I took 3! I just wanted to make sure! I didn't want to get my hopes up. We had been trying for a few months and I had to make absolutely sure that it was positive. It definitely was!!!

Manny's 30th Stache Party

We had a moustache themed party for Manny's 30th birthday. We invited over a few friends to eat and hang out. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures from that night.

We played "Name That 'Stache." Everyone did really well. I guess I'll have to make it harder next time.

Anthony had some problems with his stick on moustache. The moustache part kept falling off.

Manny was a little confused.

Even the girls got into it.

Even Mija wanted a moustache.

Look at this awesome cake our friend Candice made. It looked awesome and was really good!

Manny loves anytime he gets to take a silly picture.

All kinds of moustaches were used. During one of our games of celebrity, we drew a few moustaches on our fingers.

Here's Bryan with his finger moustache.

2012 and already a home project

Happy 2012!!! I can't believe 2011 is already over. It was such a great year. We had so many things going on, the biggest being buying our house. We are loving making it our own and we ended 2011 and began 2012 with a little face lift in our bedroom. On New Year's Eve we randomly decided to tackle painting our bedroom. We had been talking about it but really had no intention of doing it that day. We started painting on New Year's Eve and didn't get all the way done. We went to some friends house to celebrate and then tackled the rest of the painting on New Years Day. We painted our bedroom Dark Granite by Behr. I love it. I think it makes things cozy! Here are a few pictures of how it turned out. All I need are some curtians. I'm thinking white ruffly curtains.

My mom and I found this amazing pillow at TJ Maxx!

Here's to Many More!

Two years ago today I married my one and only! It has been a busy two years. We have moved half way across the country, started new jobs in Austin, Manny started grad school (which he is officially half way done with!), and bought a house. Such a great two years and I know we will have many more. I love you Manuel! Happy 2 Year Anniversary!

Tis The Season

I love Christmas time! I love getting all my Christmas stuff out. I love it for two reasons. 1) I have just always loved a decorated house during Christmas. 2) All my decorations are from my wedding. It's just a fun way to be reminded of the best day of my life every year! Any way, I pulled all of my decorations out the Friday after Thanksgiving since Manny was working and I was home alone. Since this is our first Christmas in our new house, I did feel a little overwhelmed but I am very happy with the way it turned out.

This is our tree. We bought a new taller skinnier one this year. The tree skirt was made by my grandmother. She is coming to our house for Christmas this year and I hope she loves seeing that I am using it.

Our mantle. Last year our mantle didn't have the TV on it. So that was a new challenge. I feel like it came out well.

This is the button/brooch tree that my mom and BethAnn made for us last year. It's one of my favorite Christmas decorations. I wish it could stay out all year.

I have this bird apothecary jar out year round but it usually has some cream feathers in it. I stuck some ornaments in it for a little glitz.

The piano was something new to decorate this year. I have to say that I love the way it came out.

This is our dining room centerpiece. I usually have a bird under that glass dome. I took the bird out and added some ornaments to it. Then I put some ornaments in another apothecary jar and then put a bird down at the bottom. I added some greenery and a little bit of white bead garland.

This is our front door. Next year, I definitely would like to do a lot more but it will have to wait until next year. I am dying to get a little table to put to the left of the door to decorate year round but I haven't found one yet. Anyway, I have been obsessed with pinterest and I decided to make my own Christmas wreath this year.

Here is a close up of the wreath. I wrapped a Styrofoam wreath with white muslin. I also wrapped the end of the wreath hanger in the muslin so you couldn't see the black. I glued some snowflakes, a mercury glass ornament, and a bird ornament on there. I love it. I love that it's soft and Christmasy!

This is sitting on my bar. It's a bread bowl filled with mercury glass and glittery ornaments.

This is it from the other side. I need to get a shade for my back door. The sunlight was out of control.

Here is my little silver tree with our wedding ornaments on them. My mom gave us these ornaments. Each one represents something for your marriage.

This next picture was so hard to take. We put up lights on our house too. It was really fun to do this. Manny did a really good job. I like the plain and simple look when it comes to Christmas lights.

Haha! I took this picture of Mija under the tree. She's not very photogenic!

Merry Christmas from The Pina's!!!

House Update

We finally added curtains! I am in love with them. They are the perfect color! It brings warmth and a pop of color into the house. I am thinking that the breakfast area curtains are next. I love this idea! We have plans for the master bedroom too. I some how talked Manny into painting our bedroom. We are going grey. Here is the color we have decided on. I am really excited about it. I think it's going to make everything pop in there. These are the curtains I am wanting my mom to make for our bedroom. I want them in white instead of that tan color. It will look so good when it's all done. I can't wait!

This is the dining area. Since I want this to look like a separate room, I plan to stencil these curtains. I saw these that I love. I'm hoping it's as easy as it looks!

This is the living room. I am leaving these the way they are. They are a bit long so I am planning to shorten them. I want to shorten them from the top though. You can't tell in the picture but they have those rings at the top and I'm just not into them. So they will be going! That's an easy fix though!

Another living room shot.

I saw this on pinterest and loved it. So I pulled a cake stand that we got as a wedding gift and did my own version. I love that it de-clutters the area around the sink. It makes me feel like the space is cleaner since it's not all sitting on the counter tops.

Piano & Canton Ready!

Things have been crazy busy the past month! I have been out of town for baby showers and people have been coming to visit. It's been a fun, yet tiring last month. Last weekend, Manny and I went to Conroe for a baby shower I was helping host. While we were there we took the opportunity to bring his mom's piano home with us. My mother-in-law, Judy, bought this piano for Manny and his brother when they were kids. They took piano lessons as boys and were really good. When we bought our house she said she really wanted to give it to us. Manny was pretty excited about it and has been practicing again. We did have to change up the layout of the room a bit. The couch got pushed back and the chair stayed put. Eventually, the chair will go and we will probably get two regular size chairs to put in it's place. So far the piano has been a lovely addition to our little home.

This weekend my mom and Mrs. Debbie came to visit. While they were here, I had my mom help me get my flea market cart ready! I love the way it turned out. I bought an old coffee sack at the City Wide Garage Sale in Austin for $7. The cart was $20. The green bag in the back is Manny's old sea bag from the Navy. I cut off the top of it because it was huge! I already had the brooches and the clutch is one that I bought from my friend Ali a few years ago. The old pins were $10. I found the old boy scout bag at the City Wide Garage Sale for $8. Not too bad! I'm ready for Canton next month!!! And all for less than $50!!!

I used three brooches that I had collected for years and clustered them together.

This is the boy scout bag I found.

Peek-a-boo Mija!

Looking down into the cart.

My mom found this old measuring tape and we tied it to the cart and tied a pen to the other end.
